Chardy/Martin Overcome Brits In Estoril

Frenchmen Jeremy Chardy/Fabrice Martin celebrated their third ATP Tour title as a team on Sunday, beating Brits Luke Bambridge/Jonny O’Mara 7-5, 7-6(3) at the Millennium Estoril Open.

Chardy/Martin struggled with their second serve, winning only 31 per cent of those points. But the duo was clutch during break points, saving eight of 10 and breaking the Brits four times.

The Frenchmen won the Open 13 Provence title in Marseille in February and the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha in 2017.

Chardy improved to 7-7 in doubles finals and won his third title of the year (Rotterdam with Kontinen). Martin is now 5-7 in doubles finals. They will receive 250 ATP Doubles Rankings points and split €29,650.

Bambridge/O’Mara were going for their first ATP Tour doubles title of the season after finalist showings in Pune and Sao Paulo. The team will receive 150 ATP Doubles Rankings points and split €15,200.
