Updates: Zverev Leads Nadal In London

Germany's Alexander Zverev is one set away from the biggest upset so far at the Nitto ATP Finals. The defending champion leads World No. 1 Rafael Nadal 6-2 at The O2.

Zverev, who trails Nadal 0-5 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head series, delivered a stellar serving performance in the opener, winning 87 per cent of his first-serve points and never facing a break point. Nadal, meanwhile, struggled to find his best tennis. The Spaniard was broken twice and both times, handed the break to Zverev with a missed forehand.

Nadal is looking to clinch the year-end No. 1 ATP Ranking for the fifth time this week. Regardless of No. 2 Novak Djokovic's results, Nadal can clinch the top spot by reaching the final with a 4-0 record.
