Djokovic & Nadal Send Support To Suarez Navarro After Cancer Diagnosis

Carla Suarez Navarro has befriended plenty of ATP players in her 17 years on Tour and many of them, including Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, quickly rallied around her after she revealed on Tuesday that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma.

The 31-year-old Spaniard shared the news in a video on her Twitter page. Suarez Navarro said she will undergo six months of chemotherapy and is prepared for the long road ahead.

”Patience and self-belief guided me through my career,” she wrote. “Not the easiest rival to deal with. I’ll need my true best.”

Djokovic responded by telling Suarez Navarro, “You are such a fighter and I have no doubt you’ll get through this. Stay positive and come back soon.” Nadal also wished her “a lot of strength… in these tough moments of life.” Stan Wawrinka, Juan Martin del Potro, John Isner and Marin Cilic joined the long list of current and former ATP and WTA players offering their love and support.
