ATP Masters 1000: Tournaments, Records, Stats
ATP Masters 1000, which debuted as a series in 1990, features the best men's tennis players at nine top tournaments on the ATP Tour calendar. Champions at Masters 1000 events earn 1,000 ATP Rankings points.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the ATP Tour calendar featured three Masters 1000 tournaments in 2020. Novak Djokovic won the first two — the Western & Southern Open in August and the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in September — to take his Masters 1000 title haul to a record-extending 36, breaking his tie with Rafael Nadal.
REIGNING CHAMPIONS... In 2020, Novak Djokovic claimed the Masters 1000 titles in Cincinnati and Rome, while Daniil Medvedev triumphed at the Rolex Paris Masters. There were six different winners at the nine Masters 1000 tournaments in 2019, including Dominic Thiem, Fabio Fognini and Medvedev, all first-time champions at this level.

MASTERS 1000 TITLE LEADERS... There have been 68 different champions crowned in 270 events since the Masters 1000 series began in 1990. Only six players have won more than 10 Masters 1000 titles. Novak Djokovic moves into sole possession of the Masters 1000 titles record after clinching his fifth title at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. A month earlier, he completed the Career Golden Masters for a second time with his triumph at the Western & Southern Open.

MASTERS 1000 WINS LEADERS... Rafael Nadal leads Roger Federer in the battle among Masters 1000 match win leaders, with the Spaniard pulling ahead at the 2019 Rolex Paris Masters. Nadal had previously broken Federer's long-held record in August, with his 379th Masters 1000 victory at at this elite level during the 2019 Coupe Rogers, before Federer evened the race at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. Stan Wawrinka entered the Top 10 leaderboard after reaching the third round at the 2019 BNP Paribas Open, overtaking Tommy Haas (144-107 match record).
